Prerequisites

  • You must be a Salesforce admin. Only Salesforce admins can install managed packages.
  • Sign in to the Salesforce org where you want to install the ECA before you select an install link. If you have both production and sandbox orgs, confirm which org you're signed in to.
  • Install the ECA in every Salesforce org that a Salesforce Connection points to. A production org and a sandbox org each need their own installation. If you aren't sure which orgs are connected, ask your TrueContext Admin user.

Install from AppExchange (recommended)

AppExchange always installs the current published version of the ECA. Use it for both production and sandbox orgs.

  1. Go to the TrueContext External Client App listing on AppExchange and select Get It Now.

  2. Follow the prompts to select the Salesforce org where you want to install the ECA, and then complete the installation.

Use a direct install link only if you can't install from AppExchange, or if TrueContext Support directs you to a specific package version.

Note:A direct install link installs one specific package version and doesn't pick up newer releases.

Choose the link for the type of org:

After you install the ECA

Installing the ECA doesn't change any Salesforce Connection on its own. Tell your TrueContext Admin user which orgs now have the ECA installed. They then migrate each existing Salesforce Connection in the TrueContext Web PortalClosed The TrueContext Web Portal is a web application used to manage security settings, forms, FormSpaces, other users, Data Sources, and Data Destinations.. For the steps, go to Migrate a Salesforce Connection to the External Client App.
